There aren’t many bands that sound as soothing as Yuko. The four Flemings (from Brussels and Ghent) create heavy postrock with banjo, cello, piano and even a coffee grinder. Singer and songwriter Kristof Deneijs already has a history in composing film music. That background gives Yuko its passionate feel. Warm miniatures, with dreamy sounds and some little specks of electronics. Thank God the band is not afraid to disturb their lovely indiefolk with some exploding post rock. Radiohead meets Sigur Rós. It’s music to dream on.
