Mastermind behind all the ‘pink’ is Milo Cordell, who discovered bands like The Klaxons and The Teenagers on his own Merok-label. Even though those bands are pretty hypy, with The Big Pink he goes back quite far. Round about the time That One Record by Velvet Underground was released. Also: 13th Floor Elevators. Psychedelic music, with a singer who addresses to you from the moon, while the guitarist is playing on another planet. This band makes songs that are almost unearthly beautiful.
