She is only eighteen, Anja Plaschg from Austria, but already has a few small hits under her sleeve. Nobody less than T.Raumschmiere and his Shitkatapult label initially discovered the singer-songwriter. After Mr. Gaunt PT 1000 became a MySpace hit she switched to the bigger label Couch. Soap&Skin isn’t the next girl with a guitar. Her style is hard to put into words: there are electronics, there are beats, there is a piano and… a beautiful, fairytale-like voice. Anja slowly lures you into another, better, world. These songs of dark beauty feel like an intimate peek in her complex psyche. Absolutely wonderful!
