Thursday 15 January - Grand Theatre - Up

No matter what, you will always associate France with chansons or Daft Punk. But certainly not the haunting Americana of Moriarty. This international collective has connections with take a deep breath- Peru, the US, Switzerland and of course Vietnam. Put all of this together and you will have a ghostly soundtrack to the previous Great Depression, in the early 20th century US. Singer Rosemary sounds sometimes like a Billy Holiday, who is on a paddlesteamer with Tom Waits. It results in an adventure in sepia colors, on melodies which create the most wonderful country noir you will hear this weekend.
