Mongrel consists of drummer Matt Helders of the Arctic Monkeys, guitarist Drew McConnell of Babyshamles, ex-Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson, Jon McClure and Joe Moskow of Reverend And The Makers, rapper Lowkey and producer Jagz Kooner together. Truly a super band. And above all: a special one. Mongrel makes a blend of indie rock and hiphop, not the most likely combination. Their first EP The Menace raised quite some dust in England. Mongrel is a band of open minded individuals and strong political lyrics. After a series of British performances these all-stars now play one of their first gigs abroad at Eurosonic.
