Hudson Mohawke didn’t really plan to bring a new era to hiphop. But the press regularly spoke of this: thanks to the experimental and extremely refined electronics, exciting grooves and a fair amount of funk every now and then. Mohawke just as easily drops all the grooves to produce the right lo-fi electronics like Boards of Canada does. This combination fits the philosophy of the Warp label perfectly, they seem to recognize producers that are well ahead of their time. The label got a productive Mohawke ready for his first complete album that will be released soon.
