De Kift is a band that makes The Netherlands proud. Last year, this special group celebrated its twentieth anniversary. De Kift plays a mix of pop, punk and band music with a theatrical feel. For their lyrics, the group draws its inspiration from poetry and historical novels. In 1995 they amazed with Krankenhaus, a record with short stories about madness and diseases. But even now this punk orchestra still remains relevant, as their most recent record Hoofdkaas proved. Franz Ferdinand and Calexico even worked together with De Kift for five special singles: they recorded a song from the Kift, while the Dutch put one of their songs on tape.
