Britpop goes even further back to the seventies and eighties with Baddies. Between all the fresh hooks there are a lot of hints to old British (post)punk. When the jumpy singing gets completely over the top, we even hear some Beastie Boys. Add the drive of a Queens Of The Stone Age to their sound and Baddies becomes an energetic cocktail which surpasses the eagerness of colleague's like The Futureheads and Franz Ferdinand. With Battleships Baddies might even have the hit of 2009. One that can turn them into the new festival sensation.
